All you'll need to enter this two-year associate's degree program is a high school diploma or equivalent. You'll team up with Alliance Tractor LLC and a John Deere TECH School for a combination of classroom and hands-on training that will prepare you for a long and rewarding career with John Deere!


Purpose: Participate in on-the-job training and work to obtain a two-year associate’s degree in the John Deere TECH program. Focused on the fundamentals and key technical concepts needed to become an effective service technician, you will graduate from the program certified in John Deere’s three core areas of service: Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service Advisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training and meet minimum GPA requirements while participating in the John Deere TECH program
  • Complete a minimum of two internships at the dealership
  • Obtain certification in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service Advisor training
  • Complete all John Deere University credits as required
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments
  • Assist senior technicians as needed
  • Perform basic service tasks as assigned
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Account for all time and material used in performing work assignments
  • Develop skills in removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components
  • May perform pre-delivery set-up and inspection on new equipment

Requirements:

  • Maintain minimum required GPA (based on school requirements)
  • Interest in learning methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment
  • Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by dealer
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively with customers and other employees
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. repeatedly
  • Willingness to learn and work hard
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Fork lift license preferred
